Which is right for you?

A 10-second decision.

Start with Trade if you're…

An occasional specifier — a few projects a year, single fixtures or small runs, flexible timelines. You want access to real pricing and spec tools without a subscription to manage.

Trade covers you. When volume grows, upgrade in one click.

→ Free. Apply in four minutes.

Go Power Designer if you're…

Specifying Dutton Brown on more than a few projects a year. Your timelines matter. You want samples on demand, a rep with a direct line, and visibility into what's coming next.

At $200, it pays for itself at $4,000 annual spend — the 5% discount differential. Most Power Designers clear that on their first quote.

→ $200 / year. $149 for the first 50.
The math, honestly

Annual membership pays for itself at $4,000 of purchases (the 5% discount differential). $4,000 That's one mid-size residential project. After that, everything — the priority, the concierge, the unlimited samples, the early access — is pure upside.

The Power Designer Kit

You'll actually hold this tier.

Every Power Designer gets a physical kit on sign-up. Not a swag bag — a working tool kit you'll keep on your desk.

Swatch deck

All 14 powder coats on the actual substrate. Refreshed annually as finishes evolve.

Printed catalog

Full product library, photographed properly. Good for client meetings.

DB notebook

For your project notes. Yes, a real one.

Letter from Thomas

Founder, co-owner, the person who signs your quotes. Handwritten.

The Power concierge

Chase — on call, not in a queue.

Power Designers get direct access to Chase. Text, phone, email — same person, 2-hour response during business hours, same-day otherwise.

When you're on deadline, you don't need a ticket system. You need someone who knows your firm, your projects, your finishes. That's the concierge.

2-hour response M–F, 8a–5p CT. Real answers, not auto-replies.
Direct phone + text Use it. That's what it's for.
Quarterly check-in call What's coming up, what to plan around.
Finish + spec guidance Stuck between two options? Ask.
Frequently asked

The fee, the terms, the fine print.

Why pay for Power Designer? Isn't trade supposed to be free?
Trade is free. Fifteen percent, spec sheets, samples, a named rep — all free. Power Designer is for specifiers who want priority, concierge service, and the physical kit. The $200 isn't a gate on the program — it's the cost of the kit, the priority production time, and the concierge SLA. Most Power Designers clear the math on their first order.
Can I start with Trade and upgrade later?
Yes. Upgrade any time — we'll prorate. Downgrade at renewal if it's not working. No lock-in.
What if I already bought through the old wholesale program?
You're grandfathered in. Your existing discount is preserved. You can stay on the Trade tier (free) or upgrade to Power Designer at any time. Check your inbox — we've already sent you a welcome-back note.
Do I pay the $200 before or after I'm approved?
After. Everyone applies to Trade free first. If you're approved and want Power, we charge the fee then. You never pay for an application that didn't go through.
What does "priority production" actually mean?
Our Minneapolis shop has a queue. Power Designer orders enter the queue at the front — typically 1-2 weeks earlier than standard. On a 6-10 week lead time, that's real. We'll tell you the revised ETA when you place the order, not after.
What's a "miss-spec return"?
Our fixtures are made to order, so we don't normally accept returns. Miss-spec returns are for the moments where a designer specifies the wrong finish, the wrong length, the wrong version — it happens. Power Designers get two per year at no restocking fee. We'll rework it into a new spec.
Is the founding-member rate for life?
The $149 rate applies to your first year. After that, standard $200/year. Founding members keep the badge forever — and the bragging rights.
How fast is approval?
Most approvals are automatic — minutes. Edge cases go to Chase for review, decided inside 48 hours. Power Designer upgrades are instant once Trade is approved.
Can my whole firm share one Power Designer membership?
Yes. One fee covers the firm. Everyone on the team gets access under the same B2B company account. Add as many team members as you need.
What does the annual Power Summit cover?
A 60-minute virtual event each fall. What's launching next year, what we're seeing in the industry, Q&A with Thomas and the team. Replays go to all Power Designers who can't make it live.
Apply once. Specify for years.

Start free. Upgrade when you're ready.

Trade is four minutes to apply. Power Designer is one more click after that.
